If you’ve been around the ‘thought leadership’ space before, you’ve heard the term “millionaire mindset” tossed around constantly.
Influencers, gurus, and so-called experts all say they’ve cracked the code to unlocking financial freedom- and you can too!…for a fee.
The core of what they’re saying, that your mindset is the primary determinant of your future success, is not wrong. However, it doesn’t take a thousand-dollar course to find the millionaire mindset.
The most wealthy, successful men and women on the planet all share the same 4 traits that collectively form the “millionaire mindset.” We’ve broken them down to their basics for you here.
Passion Over Product
There’s an old saying, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” While sounding like the back of a Hallmark card, the sentiment could not be more true.
The more passionate you are about what you do, the harder you’ll work to make it succeed. Find what makes you excited, what you could talk about for hours unpromoted- no niche too small. Especially in the age of social media, you can (and will) find a way to monetize.
Don’t believe us? There are Jump Roping Channels, Musical Whip Channels, Car Channels, Homesteading Channels, and Slime-Making Channels, all gaining collective billions of views, and millions of dollars. Every idea starts off as ‘niche’ and ‘strange’ until someone has the guts to make it mainstream.
The best part? When you do what you love, there is no longer such a thing as “working too hard.” No more fearing burnout, or dreading going into the office the next morning.
“Work only becomes unbearable when you’re
doing something you don’t like. You’ll find
yourself counting down the minutes until the
clock hits 5:00 PM. It’s really a terrible way to
live.”
– Manuel Suarez
Confidence Over Qualifications
The heading of this section will probably be controversial. But it could not be more true.
If you wait to feel qualified for a task, you will never get to achieve it. There is no such thing as being ‘ready’, only being ready to try.
Chances are, you’ll start your process full of doubts. Imposter Syndrome is rampant, especially now that social media places child prodigies in our feeds every other post. Many struggle with the insecurity of ‘why should they hire me? Why not someone better?’
The truth is that we are our own worst critics. Bad experiences are proven to stay in our minds longer than positive ones. When starting a new project, we are more likely to remember the one time we failed than the fifty times we succeeded.
The solution? Document your wins. Each and every one of them. Your first 1000+ view video, your first sale, your first marathon; big or small, write them down in a notebook. With every “win” your confidence should grow. And now you have an easy-to-go place to prove your own quality.
Over time, you’ll find your uncertainties will fade away.
Purpose over Pessimism
If you go into a project convinced you will fail: you will. You cannot succeed in something you believe was doomed from the start.
Just ask Les Brown….
“Easiest thing I ever did was make a million
dollars, the hardest thing I ever did was
convincing myself to believe I could.” – Les Brown
Pessimism is a common trap. Often, it’ll be disguised as ‘being realistic’ or ‘brutal honesty’. It is not. Limits are not a truth, they are walls of mediocrity most stay trapped in, with their dream life on the other side.
Negative people breed more negativity and ultimately hold you down. If you want to start succeeding, you need to find those already winning, who will encourage you to work harder, dream bigger, and do more rather than tell you to slow down “for your own good.”
The best thing you can do to push through pessimism is to surround yourself with entrepreneurs, leaders, and self-made successes. Not only will this open opportunities for you to grow your business, but keep you engulfed in a cultural mindset that better aligns with the millionaire mindset’s values.

Goal-Setting over Settling for Mediocrity
If it’s not written down, it doesn’t exist.
You can want a thousand things. People want jets, Lamborghinis, yachts, and penthouse views. For their business, they want growth, better sales, more employees, and on and on- but wanting and doing are different things. Until it’s a goal, it’s meaningless.
Whether personal, professional, or even emotional: the way to start manifesting your desires is to set them as concrete goals. This should be broken into daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and even lifetime goals.
“In 2014, my first big goal was to generate one hundred thousand in revenue every month. Fast forward to today, and that figure, on average, is over seven hundred thousand every month.”- Manuel Suarez
To get started? Start by creating a battle plan every morning.
This battle plan should have all the things that are non-negotiable to be finished by the end of the day. This way you always know what you are working towards.
Why does it matter?
The millionaire mindset, despite its name, is not just about making money…though, that is certainly nice.
The millionaire mindset puts you in the driver’s seat of your own life. It’s not allowing yourself to wallow in a victim mentality and instead take action. Whether in business, relationships, or personal development: no one can give you the success you want except you!
You can either give up, or push harder, and only
one of those will bring you closer to your goals.”
